**What You Need To Know:** Planet Terror is a 2005 American-Spanish horror film directed by Robert Rodriguez, with a screenplay written by Lemarchand, based on the 1982 zombie western film of the same name. It tells the story of Rose McGowan's Tara Reid, who is traveling to Mexico to deliver some cash to her brother during Hallowe'en - only to learn that he has been kidnapped. The movie's cast includes Josh Brolin, Marley Shelton, Vanessa Ferlito and Danny Trejo. They join Bruce Campbell as one of three co-owners of "Hallowcare", which charges people for medical advice on how they can survive a zombie apocalypse. The plot of the movie is loosely based on the book "The Rising: Zombie Holocaust" by Lorenzo Carcaterra. Martinez is a small town in Arizona that has become a ghost town due to the undead. At night, the zombies begin to roam around. As Easter approaches, Tara Reid (Rose McGowan), an American tourist, follows her brother Johnny's map to his hideout in Mexico and ends up in Mexico City after being chased by a gang of zombie pilots. She finds her brother and Carmen (Marley Shelton), who wants Johnny out of Mexico because she doesn't want him there while she is pregnant. She gives Tara some money to find him. After they arrive in town, some people try to keep them from leaving the city for fear of contracting the zombie virus. When Tara finds Johnny, she finds that he is working for some locals who are holding the townspeople hostage. She also discovers that her brother has become infected with a zombie disease after being bitten by one of the zombies. One of the locals tells Tara that he was bitten while rescuing his sister during the zombie attack on their village. The locals plan to use any uninfected residents as test subjects for a vaccine they are developing, so they can sell it to the government and make millions. Johnny is killed by the leader of the gang, who also infects Carmen. Tara leaves to find her way out of the city before the vaccine fails and she becomes infected. After fighting off some zombies, she reaches the outskirts of town, where she encounters a group of gun-toting women who shoot anyone they see. A woman says that they are on their way to rescue Johnny's brother, who is being held hostage in an abandoned building by some skinheads - led by a man named "Crazy" Joe (Danny Trejo). He is an American ex-soldier with combat experience. Tara manages to sneak into the building and reach Johnny's brother, Stu (Josh Brolin). Joe finds out she is in the building when he finds her, but he let her go when she says she is searching for Johnny. When Joe finds out that Johnny's brother has contracted the zombie virus, he lets Tara leave. Tara finds that Stu wants to leave the town with Joe and his gang because they don't want to become infected like Johnny did. When Tara returns home, she finds that Carmen is still alive, thanks to the vaccine. She injects it into Carmen after seeing what happened with Johnny and realizes how valuable it really is. She promises to return for them after helping her brother escape town.
